Debbie Manners Profile
“I set up ND Media after nearly 20 years working for the BBC on staff and then as a freelance radio reporter. My BBC career started at Radio Devon, followed by other local radio stations in the South West and the Midlands.
I then moved to BBC Ceefax in London, and from there to the national radio newsroom, rising to Assistant Editor. As such I produced news programmes and bulletins for the radio networks, in particular Radio 4 and Five Live. Moving to the South West in 1999, I worked for a time in BBC Regional TV, before becoming a freelance reporter for Radio 4 programmes including Woman’s Hour, You and Yours and Farming Today.
My love of writing led me to become a regular contributor for a wide range of local and national magazines and other publications. During this time I also began helping friends and colleagues with press releases and found it enormously satisfying to see how my work was helping their businesses grow. This resulted in me starting my own PR business in 2007, called North Devon Media, or ND Media. Since then I have provided PR services to businesses of all shapes and sizes, selling everything from car roof racks to multi-million pound houses.”
